Love this! I’m still wrestling with why would Jesus say “who is my mother”. Did he really turn her away?

no, he didn't turn them away. He is not betraying his family, he is redefining family and including people in a vision for a spiritual family. We are all now siblings and our Father is God. When Jesus says, "Pray like this. OUR Father..." He is saying, he's my dad and he's your dad, all of us! This would have been really shocking because family systems meant everything at the time and are still a huge deal in Jewish culture. But Jesus wants us to see those who are different than us by race or class or gender as side by side siblings who care for one another just like they do in physical families. Not to say that wouldn't have been hard for Mary, perhaps, to hear her son. But I think she may have caught on by now that He was a man on mission and nothing, not even family, primarily would hinder Him from including others in a new kingdom.

social media is a vast avenue for evangelism, even to, especially to those who call themselves Christians. So keep quoting scripture for them to see. Perhaps their eyes will open with God's own words. I've decided to move in compassion with the deceived and pray for hearts to change.
