First of all, the amount of trial and error I have spent on face tapes to see if one is better than the other has left me with some hilarious hat days to cover my botched forehead. For instance, if you use the wrong medical tape, it will give you MORE lines on your forehead. If you use medical tape on your chest for those cleve lines, it just doesn’t work at all and leaves you with a touch of chest acne. Or at least it did for me. So thankful for my favorite high neck tanks from target on that day ha!
But with all that said, FACE TAPE WORKS! But it works like parenting, you have to be consistent. And it doesn’t have to be every night but a lot of nights will do the trick. The thing is, when you skip a night, it’s noticeable the next day—so that’s motivating. I do have some solutions for you. If you’re looking for the easy button, at a lower and less toxic cost than botox, frownies are for you. At $24 dollars a month, they’re simple, they do the trick, and you will never have a more hairless forehead. You can always water it down before you peel if you feel like it’s unpleasant, but I don’t mind the gentle waxing.
I had heard about medical tape as an alternative, so I tried what I had. It is the more fabric kind—please don’t use this! It gives you more lines than when you put them on and I had to wear a hat that day bc it took a day for them to go away LOL!. My B, for being impatient. You really do have to use this medical tape! At $4 a roll, this will last you all month. HOWEVER, you need to use your serums and moisturizers on your head before you add the tape as it is painful to peel off and will leave that sticky residue. YOU MUST overlap the tape. No tape should be standing alone or you will have lines, ask me how I know. I love that I can use moisturizer before the tape because with Frownies, you really need it to be moisture free for them to stick well. Once you get the hang of it, this is very cost effect and works wonderfully. I did try to put it on my chest lines and it was sort of a disaster, creating more lines and zits. I’ve tried the silicone ones, but it was too sensory yuck for me—I don’t want to feel it. So I need to find a solution for that. I did purchase this pillow and just need to try it ha!
On to your pits! Someone had recommended an alternative to apple cider vinegar in the pits to make them less stinky, and I gave it a try. It really does work. The price is much more than cheap little ACV, but you don’t smell like vinegar. I had GOOP on hand, but that’s a bit more pricey than this $9 alternative which I do love! I apply either of these things like toner in the morning and reapply through the day if I get sweaty in the garden and need some help. I don’t use deodorant and especially anything with aluminum in them on account of my PRECIOUS LYMPH NODES that are right under there. I don’t care if I have to do a little extra work to not use products which are, in my opinion, harmful to your endocrine system.
Now we move to the other fun topic of salt as a weed/grass killer for gravel. You do not want to put this in your actual grass, or in your mulch where grass pops up. Salt will kill any living thing in high concentrates. If you think you’ll want to EVER grow anything where you’re salting, just don’t do it. It really Jacks up the PH. In my case, I am
never changing our layout: it’s a timeless French garden sitch with gravel and stepping stones. If you have a gravel area that grows grass and you want to get rid of it, sprinkle the salt liberally over the gravel and then lightly water (I used a Costco sized salt box for the entire gravel area). Be careful as to where the water will run off. Again, it will kill things or has the potential to. Our lot is flat! Some people say dish soap, vinegar and a salt spray works great, so you could try that. I am a little lazy but I think that solution would work great for spot treatment and is a much better alternative to glysophate which gives your pets and you and your neighbors cancer so pleasssssssse do not use this!

And if you’re looking for a mosquito yard spray that works well, it’s THIS. I used it for the grad party we just had and it was a success. I wouldn’t do it before a heavy rain. But it’s non toxic, smells better than the garlic spray I was using (LOL) and really does work. It will run you $37, about 15 min of your time, which beats $200 for a company to come spray your yard with who-knows-what.
We’ve really covered a lot here. But like I said, when you read my newsletters, you’ll never be bored ha!
P.S. Yes, these are my amazon affiliate links and I do get a small percentage of your purchase, which is helpful!
Can you post a tutorial on how to face tape your forehead properly? I’ve used the frownies but recently switched to medical tape because it’s a lot less expensive, but I am concerned I’m not doing it correctly? Maybe you can do an IG tutorial?? 😃
How has it never dawned on me that cleavage lines are from being a side sleeper?! Duhhh! Thank you for this random but useful knowledge! True to your word, your newsletter is never dull! 👏🏼
