We’ve all been on the receiving end of unkindness, and likewise on the receiving end of unmerited kindness. I have a friend, who by now, I would think would be so sick of my neediness surrounding kids schedules, what’s happening this day at school, oops I forgot to bring that to the party, can you pick up this kid because we’re out of town… She’s my go to.

And yet, every time, she gently and reassuringly helps me out. Without frustration (I mean, we all know when we get that text back that’s clearly annoyed!). I marvel at her patience and also at my hot-mess-expressness. But I can’t tell you how much of a sweet balm it feels to my weary soul.
It’s just an everyday kind of kindness. No one is lifting a car off someone in an accident or climbing a tree to save a kitten, but just as significant to my weary heart.
