Hi friend!
I thought it was just my internet, but nope, I can't jump on my beloved social media today. And that felt weird, because it's my job but also, it's what I read too when I'm bored, when I have exciting news, when I need some approval, or when I'm looking for something to offend me. HAHA!
*Actually not funny because it's more true than I'd like to admit.
My friends and I were texting: "Wait so we're just supposed to interact with people in real life?!" It's a joke, but when this tool gets taken away, it kind of feels weird. I wanted to send this email to encourage you with a couple IRL things you can do to have a meaningful connection today.
1) Text a friend as encouragement : "I was just thinking about you and I wanted to tell you, you've been a really good friend to me." Or "I know you're going through a hard time, and I just prayed for you."
2) Call your mom, your grandma, your dad, your brother and check in!
3) Ask a neighbor if they want to go on a walk this evening. Better yet, take the kids and pack a picnic!
4) Declare a no technology day and plan something to do together. Play a board game, shoot some hoops, or get crafty.
5) Every time you forget there's no Instagram or Facebook and check your phone, turn this moment into a time to pray for those around the world who are suffering.
Lastly, If we've not connected in a while, thank you for being here and spending time with me on social. It can be a weird internet world, but I think I have the best humans surrounding me in that space, and that includes you.
Hope you guys find time to do something offline you enjoy.
Go sit in the sun like my granny used to say!
Love,
Jami
